CSA

What is a CSA program?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Community Supported Agriculture is a concept developed in the early 1980’s by individuals who wanted to bridge the gap between the overworked, underpaid “organic” movement, and industrial agriculture.  A CSA enables members to pledge their support to a farm and in exchange receive a share of the bounty throughout the growing season.

Shepherd Farms Membership Benefits:

Organic – Since 1973 we have been growing crops without pesticides and chemical fertilizers.  We believe in healthy families and a healthy environment.

Local – Picked when ripe, local produce is fresher, tastier and more nutritious. Since it hasn’t traveled far to reach your plate, you help reduce your carbon foot print.

Economical – Our organic produce is bountiful, beautiful, and lower priced than grocery store organic.

Convenient – Central drop-off locations and delivery service saves shopping time.

Community - Joining the Shepherd Farms CSA entitles you to farm visits, harvest celebrations, and other gatherings on our farms.
